STEVE SULZER’S VIRGINIA LOSD COURSE
STEVE SULZER’S VIRGINIA LOSD COURSE IS RETURNING TO FRGC!
With the pandemic largely behind us, attorney and club member Steve Sulzer is pleased to announce that he is resuming presentation of his Virginia LOSD Course (THE LEGAL USE OF FIREARMS FOR SELF-DEFENSE IN VIRGINIA – WHEN THE DEFENSIVE USE OF FIREARMS IS PERMISSIBLE AND HOW TO WIN THE LEGAL BATTLE THAT WILL FOLLOW) live at the club.
If you are new to the club or have never taken this course before, Steve teaches Virginia’s legal limits on the use of deadly force in self-defense situations, with a particular focus on the use of firearms. He gives you a working knowledge of the legal boundaries between a justified use of firearms in self-defense and an incident that will expose you to criminal prosecution and civil damages liability.
The morning portion of the course also covers new developments in Virginia’s standard for the legally-justified use of deadly force. The law has changed with respect to the overt act element required to justify the use of deadly force – and not in a good way. Learning about this issue will help you to avoid a dangerous legal trap that has been set by the Virginia courts.
The afternoon portion gives you a practical set of guidelines and steps you can take to maximize your chances of winning the legal battle that inevitably follows your use of a firearm for self-defense. It also identifies useful resources that are available to help you deal with the devastating legal fees and expenses you will face in the aftermath of a self-defense incident. Whether you have existing coverage or are considering obtaining this kind of protection, you will find the course helpful in choosing the best alternative for you.
This course has become the gold standard for those who carry concealed or rely on firearms for home security and self-defense. Here are representative comments from folks (including FRGC members) who have attended the course:
“This is a fabulous course!” “Well-informed instructor. Clear takeaways, useful vignettes to illustrate points. Great course, very informative.” “Realistic explanation of reality and process.” “Smooth, well laid out, well spoken.” “Extremely well organized. Excellent content.” “Very complete – lots of good examples. Thank you for a great job.”
The course will be presented live at the clubhouse from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2023. You will receive a copy of the PowerPoint presentation, useful written course materials, and a certificate of completion. The cost for FRGC club members is $100 per person, a $50.00 discount off the price usually paid by the general public. You can sign up and pay for the course by emailing Steve at [email protected] or by calling him at 703-899-2903. Attendance will be limited to the first 20 persons who sign up on a first-come, first-served basis.
