Long-time and Honorary Club Member Jim “Horse” Smith Passed Away

We have been notified long-time and Honorary Club member Jim “Horse” Smith passed away peacefully Monday, January 3rd. Jim celebrated his 101^st birthday last month, joined the Club in 1998 and was bestowed Honorary membership status with the Club in 2014. Jim served with Edson’s Raiders, the 1^st Marine Raider Battalion in WWII in the Pacific theater of operations, and was a fixture at the Club.

A visitation for Jim will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Demaine Fairfax Funeral Home, 10565 Main St, Fairfax, Virginia 22030. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St Leo the Great Catholic Church, 3700 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax, Virginia 22030.

Jim will be missed; condolences to family and friends.
