High Power Rifle Silhouette Match – 06/6/2021

Match day was hot this time. Eventually about 94 degrees. No wind, lots of mirage. But still, scores were pretty fair most with AR15 rifles. Only two competed using silhouette rifles – Hartwell Stoneham and Walt Ivanjack. Hartwell won with a 15×40.

The ending of the AR match was a fine display of sportsmanship by Hartwell, following a shoot-off between Hartwell and Tyler Camp who was using a Steyr AUG in the match. Both had an 11. Following the shoot-off, in which Hartwell won on the second round, Stoney looked at his targets again and realized he had actually turned one, which then did not fall. He then reported this to the range officer who also looked, and determined then that Hartwell had a 10×40, not 11. Therefore the match went to Tyler Camp. Great sportsmanship!
